Description

Limited to master's-level students seeking Initial Certification. Methods, materials, and assessment for teaching foreign languages at the middle and high school levels. Developing communicative competence, academic literacy through the four skills, and cross-cultural awareness in a language other than English. Curriculum development; use of relevant technology; current standards; instructional strategies; inclusion of students from diverse language backgrounds and students with disabilities. Includes field experience. Students cannot receive credit for both ESC 424 and ESC 524. PREREQ: ESC 501 or the equivalent course in psychological foundations of education; a 3.0 GPA overall; and Departmental permission.
