Theories of bilingualism and language learning; psycholinguistic and sociolinguistic impact of bilingualism, bidialectalism and biculturalism on education, prevention, assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and adults with communication disorders. Emphasis will be placed on academic challenges, methods for assessing and direct teaching English language arts, literacy, and other content areas to English language learners. This course places emphasis on the multicultural and multilinguistic differences in the analysis and application of linguistic theory.
