Description
Students complete 320 hours of practicum in a social service agency as arranged by the Program. Students integrate social work knowledge, values and skills as they provide culturally sensitive services to diverse urban populations. The Practicum Seminar component of this course is designed to integrate classroom content with their agency practice. Students are required to use SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment) with their clients in their practicum placement unless they are told by their practicum instructor that they cannot use it or if there are no appropriate opportunities to use it in the practicum setting.
Pre-requisites: SWK 713, SWK 773; Co-req: SWK 714, SWK 745, SWK 729; Pre- or Co-req: SWK 747.
