Examination of HIV/AIDS in the United States and the world, including biomedical aspects of HIV/AIDS, history of the epidemic, epidemiology, prevention, treatment, and policy issues. Emphasis is on the use of contemporary research to understand the issues surrounding HIV/AIDS and the role of health educators particularly in terms of prevention (Closed to students who have taken HEA 211 or equivalent.)
