AUTHENTICATION/APOSTILLE: Transcripts and/or diplomas that need to have the Apostille process and/or notary may be obtained from the Office of The Registrar – located in Shuster Hall 102. In the event that the original diploma has been lost or destroyed, students may place a diploma reorder online through their Parchment account. An additional fee will be required for the duplicate diploma. Transcripts and/or diplomas that have been submitted for authentication and/or notary will be available within 24 to 48 hours for pick-up from Shuster Hall room 102. There is a $5.00 notary fee per document.
CHANGE OF NAME, ADDRESS, AND NATIONAL ID: Students must contact our office via email at records.transcripts@lehman.cuny.edu to initiate a change of name using the Personal Data Change Request Form and by providing two (2) types of appropriate legal documentation. The below outlines the types of documents that can be submitted as valid documents. All documents and identification presented must have the current legal name.
Marriage- Marriage License and government issued ID
Divorce- Divorce Decree/ Annulment and government issued ID
Naturalization- Certificate of Naturalization and government issued ID
Court ordered- Final Court order and government issued ID
Adoption- Adoption order and government issued ID
Currently enrolled students can view or update their address (Home, Mailing and Billing) and phone number in CUNYfirst Student Center. For instructions on how to update your address or phone number in CUNYfirst, click here.
To update the Permanent address or National ID, students may submit their request by email from their Lehman College email account. Former students or alumni can complete the Personal Data Change Request Form and submit by email. Changes or correction of National ID must be accompanied by a completed Personal Data Change Request Form and an original, signed Social Security Card or Taxpayer Identification Number (if student does not have a Social Security number) and government issued Photo ID. All requests can be emailed to records.transcripts@lehman.cuny.edu.
First semester students should contact the Admissions Office via email at graduate.admissions@lehman.cuny.edu, to change their address and/or national ID.
SCHEDULE BUILDER ENROLLMENT: All continuing Undergraduate, Graduate, and Doctoral students register for courses in Schedule Builder during their assigned enrollment appointment times. Assigned enrollment (registration) appointments provide students access to enrollment via Schedule Builder. Students are not required to attend in-person registration. Registration information is communicated to students via email. Please note, if you are unable to enroll, kindly check your Student Service Center for any holds on your record. All negative holds must be cleared before enrollment.
DECLARATION OF PLANS AND/OR SUBPLANS (Majors, Advanced Certificates, Tracks, Concentrations, and Specializations): iDeclare is the online Declaration of Academic Plan and/or Sub Plan workflow. This process allows students to initiate a request to declare, change, or drop their major or advanced certificate online. Requests submitted online are reviewed by the appropriate department for approval and processing. Click here for instructions on how to initiate an iDeclare request.
Students can also check the status of a submitted request by logging onto iDeclare and click the “Status” option in the menu or checking their email for confirmation and alerts regarding their requests.
Students who need to drop a major or advanced certificate can do so by submitting a request in iDeclare. Students cannot drop their only major on record, as all students must have one declared major on their record. You can opt to change your major.
Please Note: Some departments may require students to make a virtual advising appointment before the iDeclare request is approved.
GENERAL COURSE SCHEDULING INFORMATION: The Office of the Registrar is responsible for scheduling all classes by ensuring the timely submission of academic department course offerings on a semester basis. We ensure that all course offerings include course attributes and are posted by the first day of classes. We are also responsible for classroom and non-class event room assignments.
GRADUATION: Lehman College conducts several commencement ceremonies annually: one in January, and distinct Undergraduate and Graduate ceremonies in May/June. A student will only be eligible to apply for graduation if they are completing all degree requirements by the end of the term in which the application is being submitted for.

NEW YORK STATE RESIDENCY: To be eligible for the tuition rate of a New York State resident, a student must have had his/her principal place of residence in the state of New York for twelve consecutive months prior to the first day of classes for the semester. Continuing students who think they may be eligible for this rate may contact the Office of the Registrar via email at records.transcripts@lehman.cuny.edu. Entering students should go to the Office of Admissions in Shuster Hall 161.
TRANSCRIPT INFORMATION: All transcript orders (official and unofficial) can be requested exclusively online. Students are advised to plan ahead and submit their transcript request orders to meet their upcoming deadlines. We process transcript requests for all alumni, current and former students of our college. Students may request a copy of their academic transcript from Lehman College by using our online service, available on our website. For currently active students, unofficial transcripts can be viewed and downloaded in Self Service in CUNYfirst.
