Latin American Global Novels – 20th and 21st Century Narratives

This course, conducted in Spanish, offers a survey of the major trends in contemporary Latin American narratives from late 1970s (post-boom) to the first decades of the 21st century. This class is structured around the discussion of global cultural networks in the narrative works of Latin American contemporary authors. Cosmopolitanism, globalization, world literature, postcolonism, decolonialism, subalternity and other connected concepts will be explored.
