Introduction to Teaching Reading in the Elementary School

Description

(For students who have never taken a course in the teaching of reading.) A study of the reading process and strategies for teaching reading, including language development, reading readiness, word recognition, analysis, and comprehension. Formal and informal measures for assessing pupil needs, organizational and classroom management techniques, instructional approaches, and materials for elementary schools will be examined. Ten hours of fieldwork required.
