Methods and materials for teaching mathematics at the middle and high school levels. Curriculum development; current standards; lesson planning; instructional strategies; uses of technology; problem solving; assessment; inclusion of special populations; and literacy development in mathematics. Includes field experience. A research paper or curriculum project is required. Limited to master's-level students seeking Initial Certification. Students cannot receive credit for both ESC 432 and ESC 532. PREREQ: ESC 501 or the equivalent course in psychological foundations of education; 3.0 GPA overall; and Departmental permission.
