A study of the structure, digestion and metabolism of macro- and micro-nutrients in relation to food and nutrition. Nutrient bio-availability, transport and function at biochemical and physiological levels, as well as the role of nutrition in the etiology, pathophysiology, and treatment of common metabolic disorders will be covered.
