 Program Objectives

• Synthesize knowledge from nursing, natural, social, and human sciences as the foundation for improving practice outcomes and developing an evidence-based approach to professional practice.

• Demonstrate ways of knowing through research, analysis, evaluation of nursing theory, reflective practice, and implementation of best practices.

• Demonstrate leadership role development through clinical expertise, negotiation and collaboration with multiple stakeholders.

• Develop inter-subjective awareness of health care systems in addressing the needs of culturally diverse populations, providers, and other stakeholders.

• Contribute to the advancement of healthcare policy and practice through the analysis of large complex systems and collaboration with others using theory, research and clinical knowledge.

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community members to identify and analyze ethical, legal and social issues in health care practices, research, and policies.

• Demonstrate specialized strategies and skills, including technology, in facilitating complex decision making in the delivery of quality care.
